NEW YORK SHIPPING CRATE

The New York Shipping Crate is where {The Projects} really began. At a garage sale I spotted this crate with a $10 price tag late one Saturday morning. With the sale coming to a close a woman walked over and said everything was half price. I looked at the loose hinges and layers of gunky paint and evaluated the work that would have to go into the piece. I took a few laps around the sale and came back to the crate. After opeing it I discovered a tray on the inside and a piece of paper tacked in the bottom of the crate. The paper indicated where the crate was coming from and where it was heading to. Immediatly I fell in love with the fact that this piece had a story. The woman circled back around and said she would sell it to me for $3 if I would take it off her hands. Of course I said she had a deal and then proceeded to cram it into my car.
